The Shakedowns September 25

The Shakedowns, a high energy rock quartet, have been taking the Alberta Music scene by storm. Playing over 50 shows last year alone, they have no plans of slowing down. This year will see the release of their first album, "Good Morning Josh...Were Sorry" and their first tour of the western Canadian provinces. Their first single "Who's Side" has  been getting rave reviews on the radio station 96.7 The Rig out of central Alberta. With a Blues Rock influence these young Canadian rockers have been impressing crowds everywhere they go with their foot stomping beats. The major lyrical influences in the band are Skylar Dayton on Lead Guitar and Vocals and Evan Cole on Rhythm and Vocals. Followed closely behind, with a tight rhythm section, are Jen Perry on the Bass guitar and Colten Robert on the drums. This is an up and coming band you do not want to miss!! Be sure to check out www.thisbandkicksass.com for more information or www.myspace.com/theshakedownsband. See you at the next show!!

KAREN LEE BATTEN AUGUST 27 & 28

KAREN LEE BATTEN

Karen Lee Batten is fast gaining national popularity. From her early beginnings as a local BC talent to the most recent release of her music video for the single "Hearts on the Run," an independent project, which received rave reviews by CMT. "Karen Lee is a talented artist with a killer voice and sparkling, infectious personality... she is beautiful inside and out."  Dayna Bourgoin, Music Director CMT Canada

Karen Lee defines herself as anything but an overnight success. A combination of drive and dedication has given Karen Lee the reputation one of the hardest working independent artists with just enough nonsense to make performing and studio work fun.

Karen Lee is so thankful for her first breakthrough making it to the top ten on Canadian Idol which propelled her young career. Working alongside Tom McKillip, Karen released her début album "Every Moment" launching four singles across Canada.

Karen Lee played the CCMA 2008 New Artist Showcase with outstanding feedback and success.  In 2009 Karen Lee performed throughout most of Western Canada. She has opened for some great bands including Emerson Drive, Big and Rich, Lonestar, and most recently the Oakridge Boys, " what a wicked opportunity that was" she says with a smile.  Since performing the Premier Stage at the Calgary Stampede in 2009, Karen Lee will return for 5 shows and counting, in 2010.

Heading back into the studio Karen Lee is working on a solid new project that promises to bring vocal depth, mature tender emotion and sass to the magic of the music. Look for the exciting release in 2010.
