Craig Moritz January 22 & 23 2010

Since hitting the country music scene in 2002, Alberta's own Craig Moritz, has been wowing crowds with his from-the-heart performances that are packed with vivacious vocals and rockin' beats. Born in Medicine Hat, Craig grew up listening to country music, and could often be heard singing along to Don Williams, Randy Travis, George Strait, Mac Davis and Tanya Tucker. Even at an early age, Craig knew he was destined to be a country singer. After moving to Fort McMurray at 12-years-old, Craig explored his passion for music through the school band playing saxophone, but as he says, "I figured if I couldn't wear a cowboy hat, strum a guitar and sing a few country tunes, it just wasn't for me."
His first big break came with an invitation to perform at the prestigious new artist showcase during the 2004 Canadian Country Music Awards music week. For the past few years, Craig has landed front and centre onstage; opening shows for various artists, including: the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Doc Walker, Sara Evans, Jason Aldean, Jason McCoy/the Road Hammers, Aaron Lines, Charlie Major, George Canyon and David Lee Murphy. Craig has become a touring mainstay on the Fort McMurray/Edmonton/Calgary club circuit and has cultivated a legion of fans. Since the official release of his 2005 debut album, "The Way I Feel," which was produced by Tom McKillip, Craig has been touring vigorously to bring his hit tunes to the masses. Response to the first album was overwhelmingly positive, and left fans wanting more from the kickin' country crooner.
The sensational first single to the new album, "Good at Lovin' You," generated significant buzz with fans during its unofficial, advance release, and the track was featured on Prime Time Country's 8 Second Ride leading up to its official release in mid-January of 2008. His next single "Hey Y'all" has been his most successful new release to date, and was picked up by country music radio stations across Canada on its first day of release. Craig is focused, fired up and dedicated to giving listeners a killer album they can sing and dance along to. craigmoritz.com

NEW YEARS EVE PARTY DECEMBER 31,2009

In the late 1960's, the punkish Vancouver band "Seeds of Time" formed the basis for what would eventually become Prism. Their bad-boy image was evinced in an early regional hit single "My Home Town" in 1969. Marking the band as recording artists, the record and follow-up "Cryin' the Blues" scored modest success in an infant Canadian music market. Ten years later bandmates Lindsay Mitchell, Al Harlow, Rocket Norton, and John Hall would find themselves together again, climbing international charts as Prism. Other key players who made Prism possible came from an early '70s Vancouver jazz band "Sunshyne", yielding trumpeter Bruce Fairbairn plus songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Jim Vallance. Singer Ron Tabak was recruited from the local circuit, and this loose community of musicians combined resources in a Vancouver recording studio in July, 1975. Prism.ca

Karen-Lee Batten, a proud British Columbian has become a beloved National singer by pouring herself into songs ever since receiving her first taste of the stage in various churches in her home town of Abbotsford. It was at the age of four that she became fascinated by the magic of music. Karen-Lee's style is as diverse as her influences.

Karen-Lee competed on the first season of the hit show Canadian Idol. Although she was one of the top 3 vote getters in her semi-final group, which got her into the top 10, she was eliminated on the first night of the finals.

Karen-Lee released her debut album, Every Moment, in December 2005. The album's cover of Deryl Dodd's song "A Bitter End" has received a significant amount of radio airplay on Canadian country music radio stations. In February 2006, she was an opening act for Emerson Drive. Karen-Lee's first music video, "Hearts on the Run," began airing on CMT Canada in April 2008.

November 20 & 21 2009 Sonic Orchid

Sonic Orchid is Saskatchewan's only female-fronted melodic rock band. Christina fuels the group with her siren-like, soaring vocals and charisma, while guitarist Brad punctuates with his melodic, rockin riffs. The group has been performing regularly in the prairies since 2002, covering artists such as Journey, Iron Maiden and Led Zeppelin. However, needing to feed their creative side, they began writing their own music. Each member brought various musicality, experiences, and influences to Sonic Orchid. Christina brings her own personal experiences, thoughts and feelings into her lyrics and melodies; Brad brings his love of melodic rock and hard rockin' riffs into his rhythms and solos, while Grant and CJ add the final spark, making Sonic Orchid's sound a kind of new millennium melodic -pop -metal rock. His sharp material, lightning fast audience interaction, and lack of a fall back plan have all combined to make him one of the country's most exciting new headliners. He often takes an honest and self-deprecating look at his own life, including his marriage. "Really, there is nothing better for you as a couple, than to be out of shape. Eventually you just get to the point where you say 'Well, honey, looks like we've eaten ourselves into a monogamous relationship.'"

White Cowbell Oklahoma September 12 2009

After two critically-acclaimed albums – Cencerro Blanco (2004) and Casa Diablo (2007) – plus countless North American and European tours, White Cowbell Oklahoma reconvened in Toronto to record Bombardero in 2009. The band had long flirted with southern tinged psychedelic-prog, but this time nothing was held back. Putting country sounds on the back burner, WCO instead looked to heavier 70s influences like Atomic Rooster and Black Sabbath, as well as to lysergic icons Hawkwind and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The result: melotron-infused epics like "Bombardero II," "Keys to the Universe" and "Frankenstein" (originally recorded by the Edgar Winter Group in 1973). But not to completely shed WCO's past, Bombardero also boasts greasy riff-rockers "Piece of the Action," "This Cracker" and "Happy Ending" – all tributes to life in the Tex-Mex underbelly.

The band has recently honed itself into a lean, mean rock sextet. The Sergeant, who had previously shared lead vocals with Clem C. Clemsen, left the band after contributing to three songs during the Bombardero sessions. The band continued undaunted, and the resulting album is a testament to WCO's exponential growth as rock masterminds. Mixing was executed by Adrian Popovich (guitarist for riff monsters Tricky Woo) at Mountain Studios in Montreal. White Cowbell Oklahoma's live show is infamous for its explosiveness – and it cometh to BJ's Q Club September 12 2009!! What a perfect way to spend a Saturday night!

Karren Lee Batten Friday Saturday August 7 & 8 2009

Thursday, April 24, 2008 RE: Karen-Lee Batten Released her Debut Video
"Hearts On The Run" On CMT "Karen-Lee is a talented artist with a
killer voice and a sparkling, infectious personality...she's beautiful
inside and out." - Dayna Bourgoin, Music Director CMT Canada
VANCOUVER: Karen-Lee Batten, Canada's, fastest rising independent
female artist has proven that when a door closes a window opens, all
you have to do is find the "YES". Thursday April 24th marks the
official launch date of Karen-Lee's debut video "Hearts On The Run" on
CMT Canada. Independently filmed and funded, Karen-Lee along with good
friend Trevor McWhinney, (producer, Needlefish Films), and Steve A.
Adelson, (Director, The (2) Headed Monster), filmed the 2-day shoot in
some of the BC's most beautiful coastal areas: Kitz Beach, North
Vancouver and Spanish Banks. Shot July of Last year, Karen-Lee's debut
video captures not only the beauty and talent she holds in a promising
career, but expresses her time, dedication and energy she puts into
every project. " It has been such an amazing and humbling experience.
To have this project come together and be so well accepted by CMT,
radio and the fans it is unbelievable", says Karen-Lee. "As an
independent artist there tends to be some hoops and red tape you have
to go through, but nothing drives me more then achieving my goals. I
wanted to show how much I appreciate having everyone's help and
support, so made the trip out to CMT and hand delivered the video. I
guess this just proves that being stubbornness isn't all bad." "Thanks
to all my family, friends and fans, for continually supporting,
believing and being apart my journey. This video is the best way I
know how to show my appreciation." commented Karen-Lee. Karren-Lee has
opened for Emerson Drive, Big & Rich, Aaron Pritchett, Ian Tyson,
Deric Ruttan, Gord Bamford, and Shane Yellowbird. *2006 – BC Female

Attention all Fred heads!!!  One Night Only!!!

FRED EAGLESMITH NOMINATED FOR JUNO AWARD FOR TINDERBOX
Critically Heralded Album Up for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year: Solo

(Los Angeles) Acclaimed and award-winning singer-songwriter Fred Eaglesmith has been nominated for yet another honor in his distinguished nearly-four decade recording career:  a Juno Award — the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy — for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year: Solo for his 17th album, Tinderbox. The nomination is Eaglesmith's third time up for a prestigious Juno, which he won in 1997 in the same category for his album Drive-In Movie.

Tinderbox continues to garner critical praise since it was released in May of last year, and was cited on a number of year-end Top 10 lists. San Jose Metro recently hailed it as "one of the best albums of last year." And the Santa Barbara News Press just named it as "one of the more intriguing albums of the last year… with its hypnotic array of swampy grooves, obsessive refrains, hymns and hollers."

The CD has been described as an "alternative gospel" album, but Eaglesmith points out that "it's not a gospel record. This is actually tearing the whole thing [religion] apart and having a look at every bit of it. I was raised in a religious background and we weren't allowed to question. This album asks every question."

The Santa Barbara News Press says that Tinderbox sounds "like a field recording from the alternative world of rural Pentecostalism mixed with the artful theatricality and gruff timbres of Tom Waits." Metro describes it as "Something on the order of Eaglesmith jamming with Tom Waits on a 1930s chain gang full of bluesmen, it's spooky and dark, with a hint of the metaphysical."

Tinderbox has already been heralded as a "masterwork" (Philadelphia Inquirer), "exceptional" (Americana Roots), and "beautiful" (Ink 19). The New Yorker says, "Imagine a duet record from Tom Waits and Woody Guthrie," declaring, "if you're missing out on Eaglesmith… you're really missing out."

So don't miss Fred Eaglesmith along with the Ginn Sisters at Bj's Q Club and Sports Bar July 16 2009!!

Shari Lynn as Sharia Twain!! June 10 & 11 2009

Born in Canada, Shari Lynn grew up listening to many different styles of music. "I've listened to it all! I grew up in a small town outside of Barrie, Ontario and my passions were music, horses and playing cards. They still are today!"

Over the years, Shari was able to develop herself as a performer having started out in a tribute band traveling and performing across Canada and the USA at casinos, bars as well as headlining fairs and festivals of up to 32,000 people. "It was a great learning experience and a stepping stone for who I am today."

With her success as a tribute artist, Shari was hired by Corus Entertainment and interviewed by CMT Canada and Country 95.3. In 2003, she was asked to join Shania Twain on stage at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto by Twain herself. She was later asked by CTV to be a special guest on Canada AM with Shania Twain co-hosting the show. "In June of 2006, I was called by one of my agents to play a date in Gogama ON just outside of Timmins." Shari recalls, "It was a big compliment as a performer to learn that this was to perform for Shania's family and friends at the place where she grew up. I was later told by the Chief of the reserve, Willis, of Mattagami First Nations, who is also her cousin that I was recommended by Shania herself, for which was a great honour."

Don't miss her shows this week end at BJ's Q Club and Sports Bar!!

Featuring 11 sensational hits, including the popular radio singles 'Good at Lovin' You' and 'Hey Y'all', the new album debuted at #31 on the Nielsen Soundscan Country Music chart, and is expected to continue its rise.

"A lot of the songs on this new album reflect my personal experiences in the past few years - from party times with friends, to getting "down and dirty" and having fun, to dealing with relationship struggles - I'm happy that there are people out there joining me on this journey and relating to my music."
